February 12, 2008 - Capable of intermittent dry running, RX Rotary Union features on-machine seal replacement, tungsten carbide counter seat, SS springs located outside flow area, and integral flange for rigid mounting. Optional isolation barrier in seal chamber extends bearing life. Available in sizes from 3/8-6 in. and in single- or dual-flow configurations, union is rated up to 500°F, 200 psig, and 3,500 rpm.

Kadant Johnson Introduces New Rotary Union


Three Rivers, Mich., Feb. 4, 2008 - Kadant Johnson Inc., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE:KAI), has developed a new line of rotary unions for water and thermal oil service. Designed from the ground up for tough applications, the new RX union features the latest technology in mechanical seal design including on-machine seal replacement for reduced downtime and a tungsten carbide counterseat for added toughness.

Capable of intermittent dry running, the RX union also includes an optional isolation barrier in the seal chamber to extend bearing life. Other features include stainless steel springs located outside the flow area, and an integral flange for rigid mounting and quick installation.

The RX union is available in sizes from 3/8" to 6" and in single- or dual-flow configurations. The union is rated up to 500 degrees F, 200 psig, and 3,500 RPM.
