Mori Seiki Introduces the DDRT-260 Rotary Table

Chicago, Illinois, April 17, 2008 - Mori Seiki has announced that it will release the revolutionary DDRT-260 rotary table in April 2008. Designed for operation on Mori Seiki's DuraVertical 5060 and 5080 and NV4000 DCG vertical machining centers, the DDRT-260 offers stable, high-efficiency 4-axis machining with powerful clamping and high-precision indexing.

Mori Seiki's DDRT-260 distinguishes itself from other rotary tables on the market by using a direct drive motor to drive table rotation instead of a servo motor and worm gear. Equipped with a high accuracy encoder that is mounted directly to the spindle, the unit provides improved positioning accuracy over gear-driven motors and eliminates backlash, positioning delays and costly maintenance requirements. Additionally, the DDRT-260 is capable of rotating 180° and reclamping in approximately 0.4 seconds with a rotational speed of 150 RPM.

With a table diameter of 260 mm (10.2"), the DDRT-260 has a 55 mm (2.17") through hole that allows for pneumatic or hydraulic clamping and uses ¸ 200 mm (7.9") cross roller bearings to achieve high rigidity, high precision guides. The rotary table also offers an indexing precision of ± 6 seconds (± 0.0016 degrees) and boasts a maximum horizontal loading capacity of 400 kg (880 lbs).

Additional sizes of Mori Seiki's direct drive rotary table will be available in late 2008.

Mori Seiki produces extremely reliable machine tools and distributes worldwide. The American headquarters is in Chicago with offices in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
