AHP Seals New Rotaflon Rotary Seal Reduces Shaft Damage and Power Consumption

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, November 14, 2006 - Users of rotary seals in the manufacturing industry can now avoid down time related to worn seal shafts.

American High Performance Seals today announced the development of the Rotaflon rotary seal which reduces or eliminates shaft damage and reduces power consumption.

"The design of the Rotaflon rotary seal accommodates widely changing operating conditions, lower breakout force and provide excellent chemical resistance," said Harald Kofler, president of American High Performance Seals.

The Rotaflon rotary seal accommodates surface speeds up to 5900 ft./min and temperatures ranging from -58F to +500F and is suitable for poorly lubricated conditions. It works in many applications including gearboxes, compressors, alternators, mixers and dryers, vacuum pumps, crank shafts, heavy duty machines, spindles, hydraulic and electro motors.

The Rotaflon rotary seal comes in two series. The RB-Series incorporates a bonded, low friction surface on the elastomeric seal lip. The MC-Series incorporates a high-performance polymer sealing lip available with a single lip, double lip and spring energizer. The result with either lip is the same: less wear and tear on the shaft leading to a longer lasting seal.

American High Performance Seals designs and manufactures the most durable seals available and delivers them within 1-4 days. AHP Seals makes both metric and standard seals using ISO 9000 compliant processes at its state-of-the-art facility near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
