June 17, 2002 - Indexer provides angular rotation in small increments in either direction. It can be used in two operating modes. One mode is operation as small bench top turn table; other mode is providing rotary motion when mounted to independent motion device or robot arm. Plant air is used with simple on/off digital programming using solenoid operated four way valves and standard controllers.

Non-Servo Rotary Indexer
Mack Corporation releases a new product for angular rotation in small increments in either direction without the complication of servo systems.
An indexer is about the size of a human fist, with heavy load capability and is used in two operating modes. One mode is operation as a small Bench top, turn table and the other is providing rotary motion when mounted to an independent motion device or robot arm. A high level of accuracy is achieved with pneumatically driven shot pins.
Plant air is used with simple "on/off" digital programming using solenoid operated four way valves and standard controllers.
Optically isolated relays for valve control are recommended to protect computers when rotary indexers are incorporated into major automation systems using computer programming.
