Big Tools Come in Small Packages- Hitachi Introduces the DH30PC2 1-3/16" SDS Plus Rotary Hammer

NORCROSS, GA., April 23, 2007 - Hitachi Power Tools today announced its compact 1-3/16" SDS plus Rotary Hammer, the DH30PC2 that produces a best in class impact energy of 4 ft-lbs and delivers the fastest drilling and chiseling speeds on the market. Incorporating a new design, this rotary hammer is nearly 1.5" shorter than the competition and weighs well under 10 lbs to improve maneuverability in tight spaces or overhead operations. The Hitachi DH30PC2 is engineered to conquer concrete, mortar, tile and other hard materials with power to spare.

Designed with a powerful 7.4 Amp motor that delivers 850 Watts of input power, this new rotary hammer out specs the competition in drilling, chiseling, size and weight. A newly designed mechanism, which integrates the mode selector with the idle strike restrictor, allows the DH30PC2 to be so compact while improving reliability and extending the life of the tool. Electronic variable speed control gives the tool a no-load RPM between 0-850 and an impact rate of 0-3,700 BPM. Its solid and dependable chuck accepts SDS Plus bits by simply sliding the bit into the retainer. For removal, the retainer slides forward and the bit is released, making replacements a breeze.

This multi-duty rotary hammer offers 3 modes of operation; drilling only, hammer only and hammer drilling that is controlled by an easy-to-use mode selector dial. An adjustable 360 degree side handle provides better control and can be removed when working in tight spaces for better maneuverability. The side handle also includes a depth gauge for consistent drilling depths. Auto-stop carbon brushes prevent motor damage and therefore add to the overall durability.

At just 9.5 lbs and 14" in length, the DH30PC2 is the lightest and most compact rotary hammer in its class. The soft elastomer handle provides a solid and comfortable grip and a 36-position variable lock mechanism allows for simple adjustment of chisels to the most comfortable working angle.

The Hitachi DH30PC2 comes complete with a depth gauge, side handle, blow-bulb syringe and injection molded carrying case that provides ample room for storage of bits and accessories.
