New Rotary Hammer from Metabo Offers Power, Versatility, Comfort and Safety

West Chester, PA, March 2006 -- Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has expanded its line of powerful rotary hammers to include a new model that provides increased power and versatility, as well as user comfort and safety. The new KHE 75 SDS-Max is ideal for drilling large holes, leveling walls and medium-heavy chiseling.

The versatile KHE 75 combination hammer allows users to quickly and easily move between masonry drilling and chiseling operations without switching tools. The KHE 75 offers high rotational torque of 575 inch-lbs. and variable impact energy from 1.0 to 10.0 joules per blow. Its optimum drilling range using solid bits is 5/8" to 1-3/4" with a maximum capacity in concrete of 1-3/4" using solid bits, and 6" using core bits.

The KHE 75 is designed for comfort and safety. Vibration reduction construction and rubber insulated handles reduce user fatigue and discomfort, while Metabo's S-automatic safety clutch and extra long front handle protect against kick-back.

Ergonomic, rounded-off areas on the handle and motor casing allow users to find a comfortable working position. The large rear handle enables two-handed operation in harder applications, and the shift lever and speed settings are extra large for easy operation, even when the user is wearing gloves.

The 10.5 amp motor has a no-load variable speed of 140 rpm to 280 rpm, and 1,325 bpm to 2,600 bpm. Metabo's Vario-Tacho-Constamatic electronic speed control enables the tool to maintain a virtually constant speed between no-load and load for maximum drilling speed. To protect the gear mechanism and motor from overheating, the overload clutch limits the maximum amount of torque applied if the tool blocks during operation.

To increase its service life, the KHE 75 features a tough magnesium die-cast gear housing, auto-stop carbon brushes with service indicator light, a spring-loaded lip seal to prevent dust penetration, a winding protection grid, and a durable pneumatic high-performance hammer mechanism.

The KHE 75 is available with Metabo's new CODE! anti-theft system, which operates via a one-touch infrared remote control to protect the tool against unauthorized use as reliably and easily as an electronic immobilization system on a car. Owners can enable and disable multiple CODE!-protected rotary hammers using a single key or assign each tool either its own key for a single user or multiple keys for multiple authorized users. In the event of a lost key, only the key needs to be replaced, not the tool.

The KHE 75 measures 18 1/2", weighs 14 lbs. and comes standard with a carrying case and depth gauge.
