Rotary Broach Gauges ensure proper hole machining.

Press Release Summary:

Made of hardened M-2 tool steel, Rotary Broach Gauges ensure size of hexagon or square hole has been machined properly. Each gauge is held by hand and inserted into hexagon or square hole. If NOGO gauge fits, hole is too large and part fails inspection. If GO gauge fits, hole size is correct and part will pass. Gauges can also help determine if there is too much twist in form, which is common with holes manufactured using rotary broaching process.

Rotary Broach Gages

Polygon Solutions is adding broach gages (or gauges) to their line of machine cutting tools. Broach gages can be used to make sure that the size of the hexagon or square hole has been machined properly. Broach gages are held to tight tolerances.
Polygon's broach gages are made as GO and NOGO pairs. Each gauge (or gauge) is designed to be held by hand and inserted into the hexagon or square hole. If the NOGO gage fits, then the hole is too large and the part fails inspection. If the GO gage fits, then the hole is the right size and the part will pass inspection. If the hole was too small the GO gage would not have fit inside. Gages also can help to determine if there is too much twist in the form, a common feature of holes manufactured using the rotary broaching process.

Broach gages are made of durable hardened M-2 tool steel. Broach gages have no taper, and can be made to custom shapes and sizes. For more information, call Polygon Solutions at (239)628-4800, or see our technical information at www.polygonsolutions.com
