Long-Wearing Intech Power-Core(TM) Rollers with Proven Durability Calculation Replaces Problematic Flat-Forming Urethane in Demanding Applications

Closter, NJ: Intech Power-Core rollers and cam followers replace flat-forming urethane rollers to obtain longer wear-life in demanding applications. Power-Core rollers feature a unique crystalline structure that is resistant to flow under static load and provides long-wearing, non-lubricated performance that does not wear out rail, does not absorb moisture and, when fitted with stainless steel bearings, are suitable for harsh and corrosive environments. In addition, Power-Core rollers and cam followers retain good bearing fit from -40° to 160° F, retain elasticity in sub-zero temperatures, and reduce noise.

Intech Power-Core rollers, cam followers, and trolleys are assembled from precision machined, high performance, self-lubricating engineered plastic tires and quality roller bearings. The plastic part of the roller fully envelopes and embraces the bearing outer racer which in turn provides high capacity to carry side loads and eliminates the need for auxiliary snap rings.

The proprietary fabrication process ensures a precise tire/bearing fit to be maintained under fluctuating loads and temperatures.

Long-wearing, Power-Core roller material provides a unique internal elasticity that is the result of strong, wear-resistant spherolites that are formed during the gravity cast-molding process. The resultant, high-performance characteristics resist compression deformation under static loads at elevated temperatures, making Power-Core rollers an ideal choice for heavy-duty and demanding materials-handling operations.

Intech engineers help customers size the roller or cam follower to suit their particular application. Using software designed specifically for this purpose, Intech has developed custom calculations that determine wear life and load capacity for both static and dynamic loads and the expected number of rolling cycles within the customer's specific condition. This flat development and life cycle calculation is industry-unique for plastic rollers. The predictive power of the calculation has been verified and fine-tuned in conjunction with a leading university over a period of three years.

Intech Power-Core rollers are available in stock sizes with load capacity from 50 to 230 lbs. Cam Followers are available in short and long configurations. Trolley assemblies feature aluminum tract and trolley systems with attachments. Custom sizes and dimensions and tire shapes can be developed to meet specific applications.
