RoHS-Compliant Rivet Nuts help resolve alignment issues.
May 16, 2012 -
Facilitating accurate attachment of components in off center applications, RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT rivet nuts allow manufacturers to account for tolerance stack up and resolve alignment issues during product assembly. Knurls increase spin out resistance in soft materials, and design allows installation from front side of work piece. Fastening technology is designed for post installation in applications where cage nuts, clinch nuts, floating nut plates, or weld nuts are typically used.

Sherex Fastening Solutions, LLC Launches New RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT Rivet Nuts
Ensure easy, accurate, and fast attachment of components in off center applications with the new, innovative, addition to the RIV-FLOATŪ family; RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT. These rivet nuts were developed for use in replacing riveted nut plates and cage nuts in applications that have alignment issues.
The RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT was developed for applications requiring backside clearance similar to cage nuts & riveted nut plates. The new RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT has all the features & benefits of the original RIV-FLOATŪ including knurls which increase spin out resistance in soft materials.
RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT was developed to allow manufacturers the benefit of accounting for tolerance stack up, and resolve alignment issues during product assembly. This saves costly rework of components and the expensive downtime associated with stripped or cross threaded fasteners. RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT also allows installation from the front side of the work piece which improves assembly time by allowing the fasteners to be installed post paint, powder coat or other surface treatment.
RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT can be used in aircraft interiors to attach the structures of the galley, overhead bins, armrests and the lavatory.
RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT can be used in military applications to attach handles and overhead racking.
RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT can be used to attach door hinges on electronic enclosures. RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT can be placed in the floor, ceiling, and walls to attach other components to the enclosure.
RIV-FLOATŪ-SHORT can be used to attach components to instrument panels and firewalls.
RIV-FLOATŪ is the next generation of fastening technology that was designed for post installation in applications where cage nuts, clinch nuts, floating nut plates or weld nuts are typically used. This innovative family of rivet nuts is RoHS compliant and can provide higher thread strength than regular rivet nuts. These breakthrough rivet nuts are installed with the new hydro-pneumatic rivet nut tool Sherex has launched, The SFS FLEX-5 Tool. Automated installation systems with process monitoring/control are also available for the RIV-FLOATŪ, RIVFLOATŪ-SHORT and the full line of Sherex fasteners.
