New Right Angle One Piece Interface Provides a Reliable Connection

The newly released right angle one piece interface is a high performance board-to-board interconnect solution ideal for high shock/vibration applications. A reliable connection and the elimination of bent pins provide an interface with improved quality over elastomers and other pin and socket systems. Additionally, the robust interface reduces costs by requiring the handling and processing of only one component.

Samtec's right angle one piece interface system (SIR1 Series) is designed for power or signal applications with a current carrying capacity range from 1.4A to 2.8A per contact at 30º C temperature rise, dependent upon total number of contacts powered. The system has a low profile of 6mm and is available in single row with 3, 5, 10 and 15 positions. The 2,54mm (.100") pitch contact system provides large contact deflection for a flexible and reliable connection. Also available are optional alignment pins and pick and place pads for precise placement.

Samtec offers a wide variety of flexible one piece interface solutions. Interfaces are available in various stack heights from 0,64mm to an elevated 10mm with 1mm, 1,27mm and 2,54mm pitches. High density interfaces can provide up to 900 dual compression or spring-loaded contacts. Additional ruggedizing options include locking clips and screw down inserts.

Pricing is approximately $ .15 per pin, depending on quantity ordered.
