Housed in glass-reinforced nylon, gear drives come in standard RAB model as well as MAD model for miniature angle drives. Measuring 3 21/32 x 3 15/16 x 1¼ in., RAB Model employs shielded, lubricated, hardened steel ball bearings and gears and is rated 1/3 hp, 1,600 rpm with max speed of 3,000 rpm. Measuring 1.25 x 1.25 in., MAD Model uses permanently lubricated gear drives, hardened steel helical gears, and non-metallic bearings. It is rated at 1,800 rpm max and 1/8 hp continuous.

Fairport Harbor, OH - April 26, 2006 - Torque Transmission, an innovator in the engineering and manufacturer of high-quality, fractional horsepower drive components, has introduced a new line of right angle gear drives designed for a wide variety of motion control applications where right angle motion is needed.
Housed in strong, but low-cost glass-reinforced nylon, the new gear drives are available in two model groups; RAB, the standard right angel drive, and MAD, for miniature angle drives.
The RAB Model gear drive measures 3-21/32" x 3-15/16" x 1-1/4" deep and weighs 12 ounces. It employs shielded lubricated, hardened steel ball bearings and gears and is rated at 1600 RPM and 1/3 horsepower maximum speed is 3000 RPM
The MAD (Miniature Angle Drive) Model measures only 1.25 " by 1.25" and weighs a mere 3 ounces, making it especially well-suited for applications where size and weight are a design issue. The MAD uses permanently lubricated gear drives, hardened steel helical gears, and smooth operating non-metallic bearings and is rated at 1,800 maximum RPM and 1/8 horsepower continuous duty.
Both models feature a choice of one or two inputs and 1:1 or 2:1 gear ratios, right or left hand configuration, and may be operated in either direction.
