Original Press Release:

Advanced Production Planning, Scheduling, and Tracking Features Released in Resource Manager-DB v2015

User Solutions, Inc. Releases New Version of Their Resource Manager-DB Software

SOUTH LYON, Mich. – Resource Manager-DB (RMDB) v2015's new features include:  Spreadsheet (Excel) Engineering, advanced features for data integration with existing systems, new order configurator, and new features to quickly create and edit Bills-Of-Resources containing any combination of materials, labor, and workcenters.  These new features will enable operations of any size to plan, schedule, and track all resources more efficiently, resulting in improved customer service and profitability.

Adapts to customers' environments, no matter how dynamic the changes.

According to Frank Burton, Production Manager out of Alpharetta, GA, "We have been using Resource Manager-DB for production scheduling for some time with several workcenters.  Recently, my responsibilities were expanded to include additional departments.  Each of these departments had their own nuances that complicated scheduling.   We used Resource Manager-DB to facilitate a spreadsheet engineering approach to quickly develop new models for testing, and the Resource Manager-DB import feature to test and validate scheduling rules per department.   What normally might take months with traditional ERP type systems took only a couple of days with Resource Manager-DB."

Frank continues, "In addition, we had already created a custom spreadsheet everyone was familiar with for tracking production.  User Solutions was able to add a feature that allowed us to import our exact existing format for automatic updating of the production schedule.  What used to take many hours of tedious labor to track and update the production schedule, is now automatic and instantaneous. With User Solutions and Resource Manager-DB, most of our unique productions scheduling requests have been accommodated quickly, easily, and affordably."

Resource Manager-DB (RMDB) v2015 new features include:  expanded spreadsheet engineering to for rapid application deployment with advanced data importing allowing for integration with most any system, both custom and off-the-shelf ERP systems, new custom order configurator, and an ability to readily configure and reconfigure a Bill-Of-Resource (BOR).

The new Custom Order Configurator is ideal for quickly building custom orders with multiple options.  Sturdy Store Displays, out of Brooklyn NY, needed a production scheduling system to integrate with their SAGE 50 (Peachtree) Software.   However, each order had a myriad of customization options (size, color, finish, types, etc.) at each step.  User Solutions added this custom order configurator as a standard feature included with the base product as opposed to it being an expensive add-on module.

The advanced editing features of configuring and reconfiguring a Bill-Of-Resource (BOR) allows for: adapting to near real-time changes for production schedule.   Any scheduled Bill-Of-Resource, or Job, can be quickly reconfigured by adding new items, new routings even new sub-assemblies, all enabling the user to have an accurate picture of production and addressing issues before they become a crisis.  This is in contrast to standard ERPMRP type systems where you have to define a standard router and standard Bill-Of-Material, and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to edit once in schedule.  For those companies, such as service shops, custom job and prototype shops, Resource Manager-DB provides the required flexibility.

Affordable and Compatible

A single user version ranges from $5,000 - $10,000 which includes implementation assistance.  Resource Manager-DB runs with Windows and uses Excel for reports.

Resource Manager-DB is the first tool that can be utilized by small companies with no formal systems in place, as well as by larger companies needing to augment existing ERP systems.
