New Universal Package Systems Program Helps Companies Improve ROI On Reusable Bulk Containers

DALE, IN (October 17, 2007) - The new Universal Plus(TM) Clean and Repair program from Universal Package Systems allows companies to extend the life of broken reusable bulk containers that would otherwise be relegated to the scrap yard or stored on valuable floor space. Universal completely repairs and cleans virtually any reusable bulk container and backs their work with a full guarantee against defects. By putting broken units back into the work stream, customers have saved on the cost of purchasing new containers.

The program is simple and cost-effective. Arrangements are made either by the customer or by Universal to transport all broken containers to Universal's Dale, Indiana facility. The containers are then unloaded, with each going through a thorough physical inspection to assess condition. They are then separated and sorted according to those that can and cannot be repaired.

Close attention is paid to structural integrity and other safety factors that may render a container unsafe or not repairable. Typical inspection points include broken doors, latches, holes and cracks. Those with holes or cracks are professionally repaired by trained repair technicians. Broken latches and doors are replaced or repaired.

Each container is then again physically inspected for complete and safe reusability, and cleaned according to agreed upon procedures with the customer and prepared for shipment back to the customer. Customers are only charged for containers that are repaired and returned to them in a condition suitable for continued use.

Universal grinds and recycles plastic containers and properly disposes of metal containers that cannot be repaired.
