Remote I/O Block Controller has compact design.

Press Release Summary:

Used in systems requiring rugged remote I/O blocks, A2:M1 suits industrial applications where small package size is required to allow for mounting near hydraulic valves. In addition to CAN (SAE J1939) data link, air-cooled unit features 14 MHz Star 12 microprocessor, 2 analog inputs, and 4 PWM driver 2-wire outputs. Controller is suited for electro-hydraulic systems or machine implement controls.

Original Press Release:

New, Compact Remote I/O Block Controller

A new controller designed for use in systems requiring rugged remote I/O blocks is being introduced by Caterpillar Electronics and Electrical Systems (Cat Electronics) at the International Construction & Utility Exposition (ICUEE), Sept. 27-29, in Louisville, KY. The A2:M1 can be used in demanding industrial applications where a small package size is required to allow for mounting near hydraulic valves.

"The A2:M1 is ideal for electro-hydraulic systems or machine implement controls," stated Geoffrey Ginzel, Cat Electronics Commercial Systems Engineering Manager. "The compact controller has four drivers, providing easy expandability to compliment the A5:M2 and A4 control product line we already offer," added Brian Uhlenhake, Cat Electronics Sales Development Manager. "And we believe we can now offer customers the most comprehensive line of versatile, configurable and rugged controllers in use around the world today."

The A2:M1 features a Star 12 microprocessor with a processor speed of 14MHz. The air-cooled A2:M1 also offers:
o Two analog inputs
o Four PWM Driver, 2 wire outputs
o CAN (SAE J1939) Data Link
