Akron, OH...Leland-Gifford, Inc., a manufacturer of a variety of precision machine tools and replacement parts for the metal working industry, now offers Hybco Tool and Cutter Grinders, Two-Way Relieving Fixtures and Tap Grinders.
The popular Model 2100 Two-Way Relieving Fixture is used in the manufacturing or re-sharpening of drills, reamers, taps, step tools, end mills and face cutting tools. Constructed mainly from cast iron, Model 2100 produces high quality, repeatable finishes. A periphery type cam using two rocker arms with carbide wear strips and two adjustable carbide balls generate the two-way relieving action. This provides infinitely variable axial and radial motion to the headstock. Complicated gearing, sine bars, bell cranks, and slides are eliminated; therefore, setups are easier and faster, and tools are ground accurately and cost-effectively.
With indicators displaying the exact radial and axial throws, which can be changed with a simple turn of the adjusting screws, the Hybco Model 2100 features independent radial and axial relief that is infinitely variable both ways over the full range of the cam. The standard spindle takes 5C collets with 1-1/6" thru hole capacity. The fixture is motorized; however, the drive can be disengaged easily to allow for manual operation.
