JNJ’s RFS-20 Recycler Saves Water, Energy, Disposal and Treatment Costs for Batch Cleaner Rinse Water

Franklin, Massachusetts, USA – JNJ Industries’ RFS-20 Recirculation & Filtration system constantly recycles rinse water from stencil and batch cleaners, saving water, energy, and disposal costs. The fully automatic RFS-20 constantly filters the rinse water and returns it to the stencil cleaner for re-use, eliminating the need for evaporators, haulage, or in-house wastewater treatment facilities. JNJ’s RFS-20 employs a 4-stage filtration system to clean the rinse water and return it directly to the cleaner.

The RFS-20 is designed to support JNJ’s AQS-3500 Semi-Automatic stencil cleaner. Fluids are drawn from the cleaner’s rinse tank into the RFS-20 by the stainless steel pump, which is protected by a stainless steel in-line solder trap and flow sensor. This system is also equipped with a 3-way valve that allows the rinse tank fluids to be power drained when changing fluids during periodic maintenance.

The 4-stage filtration system consists of an in-line solder trap, followed by a 10-micron polypropylene filter that filters out coarse particulates, followed by an activated carbon powder filter to remove organics, and finally a 5-micron polypropylene filter for fine particulates and organics. Rinse tank water is therefore constantly re-circulated, extending the bath life of both the wash and rinse tank fluids in the cleaner.
