Linde Moving Mast Trucks Meet Needs of Advanced Warehousing Concepts

SUMMERVILLE, SC - R-Series moving mast reach trucks from Linde Lift Trucks are designed to reduce maintenance burdens and achieve maximum productivity within today's advanced logistics operations. Conventional Class II narrow-aisle reach trucks are known for ever-higher maintenance costs, as stacking heights have increased to conserve warehouse space. R-Series operator-seated vehicles offer 10,000-hr preventive maintenance costs typically 80% less than those required by conventional pantograph-type reach trucks.

Linde electrically powered reach truck Models R14, R16 and R20 offer load capacities from 3000 lb to 4500 lb and a maximum available lift height of 452". The entire mast assembly in the R-Series moves forward and uses fork tilt to place the load on the rack, with a constant load center of 24". In contrast, a pantograph-type truck employs a scissors mechanism to extend the entire fork assembly and load. With storage heights that now are typically 35 ft., and load centers that move out to 48"-66" for 48" pallets, the pantograph mast assembly requires constant preventive maintenance.

In addition to lower maintenance, R-Series trucks are designed for premium operator comfort and high work throughput with minimum fatigue. The triple mast with integral sideshifter has no hose reels and only two hydraulic cylinders, providing a clear view at all lift heights. Digital control enables fingertip management of all load movements, efficient control of traction and diagnostic capability via a CAN bus connection. The integrated onboard display reports comprehensive operational and maintenance information.

Linde R-Series trucks have three independent braking systems: hydraulic foot brakes, an electric parking brake and all-wheel electric regenerative braking, which significantly reduces wear on the service brakes. All R-Series models conform to current safety standards. Options include cold storage protection to -30°F and a cold storage/ comfort cabin.
