KEP Introduces New Battery or Loop Powered Ratemeter/Totalizer with Convenient Setup and Monitoring Software
4 February, 2004 — KEP of Eatontown, New Jersey has introduced its new Model BATRT-M ratemeter and totalizer with convenient setup and monitoring software. Providing two to four times the battery life of the previous generation product, the BATRT-M features 5 digits of rate and 8 digits of total. The instrument can be powered from an internal battery, external DC supply, or a 4-20 mA output loop, and accepts magnetic pickup, DC pulse, and switch-closure inputs.
Optional software and setup cable simplifies instrument configuration, with tabbed menu fields and "click and choose" or "fill in the blank" setup prompts. The BATRT-M software lets users create, save, open, download, upload, and print the setup information for the instrument, as well as view rate and total on a PC.
The instrument’s optional 4-20 mA output boasts higher accuracy and updates rapidly (8 times per second) for easy integration in control loops. Other new features include an improved 20-point linearization table, isolated scaled pulse output, and non-volatile flash memory to prevent the loss of set-up parameters when replacing batteries.
The BATRT-M is available in panel mount, wall mount, or circuit board configurations, and in a NEMA 4X or Explosion-proof enclosure. Instrument indicated accuracy is 0.01% of reading ±1 count, and the equipment is rated for operation at –22°F (-30°C) to 158°F (70°C).
