Portable Rail Grinder grinds rail to clean it in preparation for CADWELD® exothermically welded connections, which bond electrical conductors to rail. Adjustable tool rest allows operator to support grinder on head of rail during use. Handle has anti-vibration padding. Ginder has maximum wheel speed of 6000 rpm. Other features include grinding wheel spacers and 360° adjustable grinding wheel guard to allow grinding in tight areas.

Improved Portable Rail Grinder from Erico®
SOLON, Ohio, July 19, 2002 - The improved Portable Rail Grinder from ERICO(R) effectively grinds the rail to clean it in preparation for CADWELD(R) Exothermically Welded Connections (which bond electrical conductors to the rail). Its unique design allows grinding of the head and web with only one piece of equipment! And, this well-balanced, lightweight tool provides easier use and handling than its bulky predecessor.
To reduce operator fatigue, the grinder's adjustable tool rest allows the operator to "rest" or support the grinder on the head of the rail during use and the handle has anti-vibration padding. The rugged 39cc two-cycle engine is 10% larger than the previous model with a maximum wheel speed of 6000 rpm.
Other features include, grinding wheel spacers that eliminate guesswork for proper spacer placement and a 360 degree adjustable grinding wheel guard that allows grinding in tight areas such as special track work.
