Ortec Announces the Detective-200(TM) Next Generation HPGe, Ruggedized, Ultrahigh Sensitivity, and Transportable Radioisotope Identification System
Oak Ridge, TN, - The ORTEC Products Group of AMETEK Advanced Measurement Technology, has launched the latest addition to its highly successful Detective Series of high-purity Germanium (HPGe) radioisotope identifiers. The Detective-200(TM) is a new breakthrough radiation identification instrument designed to be compact, highly sensitive and portable to achieve an array of nuclear security objectives. These include:
o Mobile Nuclide Identification - Scalable and easily integrated into any mobile asset for mobile wide area search applications.
o Maritime Nuclide Identification - Designed for harsh maritime missions, easily installed on marine vessels, and can be operated with increased counting times and provides effective radionuclide identification out to 20 meters.
o Portable Chokepoint Monitoring - Unique packaging for easy stackable configuration to place at road sides, pedestrian entryways, and vehicle entry locations with "Auto Identification" features for easy set-up and operation.
Compared with the other ORTEC Detective family members, the larger HPGe detector element in the Detective-200(TM) offers ultrahigh sensitivity, easy use, low number of false alarms, fast implementation, small portable packaging, and low maintenance operations.
The Detective-200(TM) was developed to support a variety of wide area search applications and provides for a cost-effective solution, compared with current permanent installed radiation detection systems. In addition, the Detective-200 it offers the highest degree of resistance to shock, dust and moisture of any instrument of its type and is designed for IP67 compatibility.
The Detective-200(TM) is fully supported by the latest versions of the Detective-Remote(TM) management software application. The Detective-Remote(TM) manages multiple Detective-200(TM) instruments and provides a combination mode to integrate into a single composite detector module. .
