July 12, 2012 - Able to measure vibration in harsh industrial environments, Type 8347-C piezoelectric charge accelerometer comes in hermetically sealed housing of INCONEL alloy and withstands temperatures from -321 to +900F. Shear design lends to thermal stability, and transducer is individually calibrated using random excitation and 1600-line FFT. Profile of 20 mm suits confined spaces in applications such as gas turbines, aircraft engines, turbo pumps, and health and usage monitoring systems.

Brel & Kjr's Radiation-Resistant Accelerometers

Carrying out vibration measurements in harsh industrial environments is much easier for engineers with Brel & Kjr's new Type 8347-C Accelerometer.

The Type 8347-C accelerometer can withstand temperatures ranging from -196C (-321F) to +482C (+900F) and has high resistance to radiation. The shear design ensures the accelerometer superior thermal stability. Type 8347-C provides accurate measurements in adverse conditions, such as in nuclear power plants, testing run-up of aircraft engines or cryogenic applications.

The housing of the piezoelectric charge accelerometer is made of INCONEL alloy and has been hermetically sealed, making it robust and ideal for harsh industrial environment usage.

Its 20 millimetre height also makes it suitable for testing in confined spaces for many different applications, including gas turbines, aircraft engines, turbo pumps and health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS).

Each 8347-C transducer is individually calibrated using random excitation and 1600-line Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT), which guarantees its measurement accuracy.
