WiFi-SAM Wireless Adapter for Isotope Identifier Simplifies PRD Disposition

Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation is introducing a WiFi-SAM, a WiFi (802.11) kit for the SAM Isotope Identifier (RIID). The wireless adapter provides a continuous data feed over local wifi networks to a network administrator or management team. Isotope Identifiers are often used by first responders or Hazmat technicians who may desire guidance from Radiation Safety or Health Physics management. The integration of WiFi in the SAM 940 Defender and SAM 940 Revealer allow multiple experts to view the data concurrently and in real time.

The Wifi-SAM Kit is compatible with existing systems running version 7, Eagle+ or Eagle Asia operating systems but requires a retrofit at the factory. New shipments include this functionality as an option.

"Having network access to radiological data is a driving factor in new developments for First Responder instrumentation", remarks John Yee, Application Engineer. "Access to data from many instruments in real time is critical in the event of a nuclear accident or illicit radiological activity."
