July 20, 2012 - Available in 2 sizes with lead pitches of 2.5 and 5.0 mm, TFPTL series features nickel thin film elements with positive temperature coefficients of +4,110 ppm/K, response time of less than 2 sec, and stability over -55 to +150°C range. Products, which consist of thin film ceramic chip with 2 tinned, copper-clad steel wire leads, offer 100 ohm to 5 kohm resistance at +25°C (R25), tolerances of ±1% and ±5%, and long-term stability (less than 0.1% typ drift).

Vishay Intertechnology Introduces New Radial-Leaded PTC Thermistors with Temperature Coefficients of + 4110 ppm/K, Response Time of < 2 s, and Wide - 55 °C to + 150 °C Temperature Range

MALVERN, Pa. - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new series of radial-leaded, positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistors. Devices in the new TFPTL series feature nickel thin film elements with positive temperature coefficients of + 4110 ppm/K, fast response time of < 2 s, and high stability over a wide temperature range from - 55 °C to + 150 °C.

Available in two sizes with lead pitches of 2.5 mm and 5.0 mm, the thermistors released today offer designers a wide variety of standard resistance values at + 25 °C (R25) from 100 Ohm to 5 kOhm, and tolerances of ± 1 % and ± 5 %. Non-standard resistance values and tolerances are available on request.

With their excellent long-term stability (typical < 0.1 % drift) and high-temperature performance, devices in the TFPTL series can be used for temperature measurement, sensing, compensation, and control in industrial and consumer applications. In addition, they can replace silicon-based temperature sensors. Typical end products include heating/cooling systems, motor drives, fan controls, power supplies, and consumer goods.

The TFPTL series thermistors are UL-recognized for the United States and Canada, and they consist of a thin film ceramic chip with two tinned, copper-clad steel wire leads. The devices are compliant to RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, in accordance to WEEE 2002/96/EC, and epoxy-coated per UL 94 V-0.
