Devices Offer High-Temperature Operation to +105°C in 14 Case Sizes
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - Feb. 16, 2009 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced the release of a new series of radial aluminum capacitors that offers high-temperature operation to +105°C, low impedance values, and high capacitances and ripple currents.
The EKX devices are available in 14 case sizes, ranging from 5 mm by 11 mm to the larger 18 mm by 40 mm. For enhanced performance and reliability, the capacitors offer very low impedance (Z), which is specified as low as 14 mW at 100 kHz, a high rated ripple current of 3800 mA at +105 °C, and a capacitance range from 0.47 µF to 15000 µF over a voltage range of 6.3 V to 100 V.
The new series of polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors features a non-solid, self-healing electrolyte and radial leads. The devices. specifications make them ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, and voltage decoupling applications in switching power supplies, dc-to-dc converters, and inverter circuits for industrial, telecommunications, and data processing systems, and consumer electronics.
Specified according to IEC 60384-4/EN 130300, the EKX capacitors offer a very long life up to 5000 hours at +105 °C and are RoHS-compliant.
