Logic Supply Launches a Flexible, Space-Saving 1U Rackmount System
Logic Supply, a leading provider of small form factor system solutions, introduces an incredibly versatile, compact 1U Rackmount system that is fully customizable-right down to the power supply. The SL1UR Rackmount lets customers choose the features right for them: type of I/O, level of cooling, PCI expansion, extra storage, surface mounting, and power source are all configurable, making for a low-profile system designed to meet unique application requirements.
The SL1UR features either an Intel® Atom(TM) or an Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo processing platform and a wide range of Mini-ITX mainboards from which to select. Multiple networking ports, legacy I/O, HD video and audio output, as well as slimmed down economical feature sets are available. And, both options can be fitted with an automotive power supply and solid state drive for more ruggedized applications with special power requirements.
The enclosure comes as a bare unit with pre-fabricated mounting posts and holes for various component layouts-this modularity makes it very easy to only add on what is needed, which saves money and space. The SL1UR has dual PCI expansion slots, front access to a CompactFlash slot, universal I/O shield for use with any Mini-ITX mainboard, and excellent cooling. It also can be mounted in a rack (facing front or back using reversible ears) or to other surfaces (just opt for the side mounting brackets).
Tomasz Mikolajczyk, Application Engineer at Logic Supply, identifies some of the application challenges this platform is prepared to address. "Using off-the-shelf hardware shortens a project's time to market, but it can come with sacrifices. You can get locked into a system where you're only using 25% of the feature set but paying 100% of the cost. With customers being more and more price sensitive, they only want to pay for what they plan to use. We designed the SL1UR to be as configurable as possible-with many custom branding options available, as well."
The SL1UR is available from Logic Supply starting with either an Intel® Atom(TM) or Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo processor-based mainboard. Each system comes standard with RAM and storage and can be fully assembled and tested by Logic Supply's computer technicians.
