ORBIS Corporation Offers UL-Listed 40 x 48 Rackable Pallet
Oconomowoc, Wis., -- ORBIS Corporation now offers a high-density polyethylene, rackable pallet approved for listing by Underwriters Laboratories as having met fire rating requirements equivalent to wood pallets.
The new UL-listed RACK’R pallet combines fire safety with ORBIS technologically advanced rackable plastic pallet, resulting in a lightweight, high-performance and cost-efficient product. Designed and manufactured for all-purpose use, the UL-listed RACK’R is well suited to a wide range of warehouse operations and pallet pooling.
Obtaining UL listing for an HDPE pallet represents a real technological breakthrough and is the result of years of effort, states Jim Favaron. Our challenge was to achieve UL approval and retain the performance properties of the RACK R, while at the same time maintaining cost effectiveness for our customers.
In addition to its fire performance feature, the 40 x 48 UL-listed RACK’R pallet incorporates ORBIS advanced welding and patented pultrusion technology for enhanced strength and durability required by today's automated racking systems. The block-style, fully recyclable plastic pallet meets or exceeds established performance standards for 40 x 48-inch, edge-rackable Grocery Manufacturers' Association-specified pallet systems. It has an edge-rack load capacity of 2,800 lbs., a dynamic load rating of 5,000 lbs. and an operating temperature range of -20 degrees F to 140 degrees F.
The UL-listed RACK R meets the UL 2335 Classification of Plastic Pallets fire safety requirements, classifying it as representing a hazard equal to or less than that presented by wood pallets. UL-listed pallets are exempt from fire code regulations requiring upgraded fire protection measures for indoor storage and use of plastic pallets.
