November 25, 2011 - Combining microprocessor and electronics in rack-mountable module, Model X1-RM provides linear current to voltage-to-current amplifier with 7 manually or automatically selected gain ranges. Maximum error within dynamic range is 0.2%. Four signal inputs operate in multiplex mode with 1 amplifier, while 4 additional analog voltage input channels enable meter to control additional detectors. Powered by 6-20 Vdc, Model X1-RM offers remote control operation via USB, RS485, or RS232 interface.

X1-RM Rack-Mountable Multimeter

Gigahertz-Optik's X1-RM Multimeter is a rack-mountable version of the X1 series hand-held universal optometer for use with a wide variety of detector types. It combines a powerful microprocessor and electronics in a rack-mountable module for integration into standard 19" rack-mount housings.

A unique feature of the X1-RM is its capability to operate up to four photodiode detectors with all four signals displayed on its four line display with on/off backlighting. The X1-RM is compatible with most Gigahertz-Optik light detector heads for flexible use over a wide range of radiometric, photometric and colorimetric measurement applications.

The X1-RM provides a high linear current to voltage-to-current amplifier with seven manually or automatically selected gain ranges. The maximum error within this wide dynamic range is 0.2 %. The four signal inputs operate in multiplex mode with one amplifier. Four additional analog voltage input channels enables the X1-RM to control signals of additional detectors like temperature sensors for example.

Manual operation of the X1-RM is simple. Once set-up all settings are stored and recalled on next power-up unless reprogrammed. Measurement values are displayed in absolute quantities for the particular detector connected.

Operating mode, detector selection and measurement parameter is accomplished by menu function using the front panel buttons.

The X1-RM also offers remote control operation via its USB, RS485 or RS232 interface (slave mode).

In both manual and USB remote mode the X1-RM can also forward commands to Gigahertz-Optik LPS series lamp power supplies via its RS484 interface.

X1-RM firmware is stored in flash-memory allowing simple firmware update via the USB-Interface without loss of the calibration data. The device is powered by 6 - 20 VDC.

Private label versions with custom design firmware and/or detectors designed to individual OEM customer specifications are available.
