Intergraph® Debuts Industry's First Military Grade Rack-Mount Sealed Computing Workstation

Patent-pending technology overcomes harsh realities of battlefield conditions

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 4 -- Intergraph(R) has introduced the first Military Grade rack-mount workstation combining rugged hardware and a sealed, solid state computer and memory to ensure protection from punishing environmental conditions and mission-ready capability.

The patent-pending Intergraph TD-R(R) 7X11R-S series rack-mount workstation was introduced today at the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition in National Harbor, Md.

The TD-R 7X11R-S Series rack-mount workstation has no moving parts and is completely sealed to prevent the induction of outside air, water, dust or other contaminants that can cause system failure. It meets or exceeds Dept. of Defense specifications for shock, vibration, humidity and temperature (it can operate in temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit [60 degrees Celsius]) and is ideal for the most stringent demands of users in harsh operating environments, such as naval ships, factories or oil rigs. The workstation runs on Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Embedded operating systems as well as Linux and uses commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components to reduce costs and provide easily available spare-parts management.

"Military and industrial organizations around the world rely on Intergraph's field-proven, computing technologies for functionality under the most severe operating conditions," said Gen. Jack Pellicci, U.S. Army (Ret.), general manager of Intergraph's Federal, Security and Intelligence business unit. "An industry first in solid state computing technology, this latest generation workstation provides a stable platform in the harshest conditions, including warfighter scenarios where uptime is critical and adverse environments challenge mission success."

To view a demonstration of the Intergraph D-R 7X11R-S series rack-mount workstation, please visit Intergraph in booth 1701 at the Navy League's Sea Air Space Exposition.
