Jamison Introduces RFID Gnome(TM) Series for Retail and Office Environments

Hagerstown, Maryland (April 17th, 2009) - Jamison Door's RFID Division, Industrial Portals has announced the availability of a compact Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) pedestal product line. Called the Gnome(TM) series, the stands are well-suited for retail, institutional, office and data center environments.

"The Gnome(TM) series delivers an excellent option to industrial style cabinets at locations where businesses want something warm and welcoming that blends well with the décor of their store, office, data center or other professional location" says Tim Buckley, Manager of Jamison's Industrial Portals.

The Gnome offers a small footprint and physical presence that can be used in pairs or as a free-standing single unit to read GEN2 RFID tags. The units are scalable and will accommodate most major brands of RFID equipment. Plug 'n play units are available that include readers and antennas. Standard Gnome(TM) configurations have a minimum height of 51", a width of 22" wide and 5" thick. The unit uses aesthetically-pleasing textured ABS covers currently available in black or white. The introduction of the Gnome has been well received in office and retail applications using RFID for asset management, real-time inventory tracking, personnel tracking, and WIP applications.

"Our customers are seeing a growing need for aesthetically-pleasing RFID units that blend well in their environments, and this unit does that very well," said Curtis Berry, V.P. of Engineering at Jamison. "The Gnome series' form offers excellent design compatibility while maintaining the exceptional read rates and performance of our larger units."

The Gnome is offered with either solid oak side trim in four finishes or a more industrial matte aluminum finish. The units easily bolt to the floor or can be mounted on a wall using a special wall-mount bracket.

Jamison sells its RFID product line through a global network of resellers and systems integrators. For more information on the product or to become a distributor contact Industrial Portals or visit www.industrialportals.com.
