May 29, 2009 - With serial character rates up to 3,000 characters/sec, SmartPipe(TM) USB-331 and USB-335 ASCII RS-232 to USB Keyboard Code Converters enable continuous stream of ASCII characters at 19,200 baud to be converted to USB keyboard codes. High rate is useful in barcode reader applications, which generate burst of continuous characters. Other applications include industrial control, PoS, instrumentation, structured test, compatibility test, and data acquisition applications.

Vetra Systems Announces Up to 3000 Characters/sec Serial to USB Keyboard Conversion Speed

Hauppauge, NY - May 13, 2009 - Vetra Systems Corporation announced today that its ASCII RS-232 to USB keyboard Code Converters now support serial character rates up to 3000 characters/sec. This means that a continuous stream of ASCII characters at standard baud rates up to 19,200 baud can be converted to USB keyboard codes. The high rate is especially useful in bar code reader applications, which often generate a burst of continuous characters. The high conversion rate now available from these Converters allows a bar code scan to be converted to USB key codes at full scanning speed.

Vetra Systems has taken advantage of its patented technology to achieve this fast conversion rate. The technology is used in its USB-331 and USB-335 family of SmartPipe(TM) ASCII serial code to USB keyboard code converters. Users of these products now can freely use ASCII serial data rates that best fit their applications. Vetra Systems advanced code and protocol conversion technology assures accurate data conversion in the most demanding situations.

Vetra's technology can be extended on custom order basis to handle character rates of up to 6000 characters per second and even faster.

In addition to bar code readers, Vetra's ASCII serial to USB keyboard code converters are widely used in industrial control, point-of-sale, instrumentation, structured test, compatibility test, and data acquisition applications. Additional details about the USB-331 and USB-335 protocol and code converters can be found at http://www.vetra.com/331Utext.html
