Wraps reduce damaged goods, resist scratching, and offer breathability, which minimizes condensation and keeps moisture away from product. Microfoam® Wrap features 1/10th in., polypropylene foam laminated to .8 mil polyethylene film. Astro-Foam® Wrap is made from 3/16 in., low-density polyethylene laminated to .8 mil polyethylene film.

Pactiv Launches ORCAâ„¢ Wraps Packaging Line
Lake Forest, Ill. (September 24, 2002)- Pactiv Corporation (NYSE:
PTV) is launching a new breathable, protective packaging line under the ORCAâ„¢ brand name.
Microfoam® ORCAâ„¢ Wrap and Astro-Foam® ORCAâ„¢ Wrap feature
new highly protective sheet foam laminations from Pactiv, in which ventilation holes have been added. The line is targeted for longer-duration shipments (such as cross-country or overseas) where ventilation is ideal.
The ORCAâ„¢ wrap line reduces damaged goods, resists scratching and
offers breathability, which minimizes condensation and keeps moisture away from the product.
The Microfoam®R ORCAâ„¢ Wrap features a 1/10th-inch, polypropylene
foam laminated to a .8 -mil polyethylene film. The white foam/grey film product offers higher tear strength and better tensile and elongation properties than competitive products. This results in a more durable wrap for longer-duration applications. Additionally, it is more pliable and easier to handle while offering superior coefficient of friction. It is ideal for wood-based products or those requiring a high degree of scratch resistance.
Astro-Foam® ORCAâ„¢ Wrap is made from 3/16-inch, low-density
polyethylene laminated to a .8-mil polyethylene film. It is available in a grey foam/grey film combination ideally suited for applications needing an emphasis on cushioning vs. scratch resistance.
Additional applications for the ORCAâ„¢ Wrap line include furniture, appliances, moving/storage applications, etc.
Microfoam® ORCAâ„¢ Wrap's 60-inch x 250-foot bundle weighs 13.5 lbs. while the same size bundle of Astro-Foam® ORCAâ„¢ wrap weighs just under 28 lbs. The diameters of the rolls are 22- and 28-inches, respectively.
