Thorogood’s Invisible I-MET™ Technology Improves Safety
Merrill, Wisc. (June 6, 2005) – Work footwear has long provided protection for the foot with the traditional steel toe cap. Metatarsal protection has finally come of age with the Thorogood I-MET™. A breakthrough in metatarsal protection, I-MET features the only internal metatarsal guard that’s completely integrated with the steel toe cap.
The I-MET MetGuard is permanently locked in place to prevent rolling or floating upon impact. No more awkward attachments, tape, or rivets – I-MET provides invisible protection that makes job sites safer. It’s internal to the shoe so it’s more stable. The internal location also eliminates the potential trip hazards that are common with some external designs. In addition, wearers find the I-MET internal design to be more attractive “workplace fashion” that can be worn both on and off the job. I-MET Hikers are available in both dark brown and black. Both feature tumbled full-grain leather and black suede leather inserts and a Napa leather collar.
