Eaton Adds PQ Spool to its Line of Proportional Valves for Plastic Injection Molding Machines

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has added a PQ spool to its line of proportional two-stage directional valves with on-board electronics. These servo performance valves have spool feedback on both stages and now can be ordered with a PQ control spool especially customized for plastic injection molding machines.

These valves have ISO standard mounting interfaces and industry standard 7-pin electrical connectors with "plug and play" features. The integral amplifier features factory-preset adjustments for consistent flow gain and excellent reproducibility, valve to valve. This KBHDG5V family of valves comes in sizes 5, 7, 8 and 10. Other features of the valves include:

-- Rated flow up to 720 LPM (189 gpm) and rated pressure up to 350 bar (5000 psi)

-- Die-cast housing that protects on-board electronics

-- Full CE electromagnetic capability

-- Fully vibration- and shock-tested

-- Optional external valve enable function

-- IP65, 67 environmental protection rating

"These valves are excellent for closed-loop control applications," said Wayne Wang, product manager for Industrial Valves - Eaton's Hydraulics Operations. "Because of the spool-in sleeve design on the pilot stage, the valve provides servo valve performance."

Other potential market segments include original equipment manufacturers, machine retrofit houses and end users.

Comprehensive technical information and application data are included in the KBHDG5V product catalog (V-VLDI-MC001-E1) on the Eaton Web site at http://hydraulics.eaton.com/products/valves_proportional_directional_controls.htm.

KBHDG5V-5/7/8 valves are available now, and KBHDG5V-10 valves will be available in May. All have standard factory lead times.
