New Genius Inside Project and Portfolio Management Solutions Provide Detailed Control, Strategic Vision Over Complex Projects
Upgraded versions of Genius Project For Web and Domino give users complete visibility and control over projects, from calculating market share to monitoring time spent on one task
NEW YORK, LINDAU, Germany, MONTREAL, and GENEVA, Oct. 13 /-- Genius Inside today parlayed its decade of project management software experience into new features for its popular Genius Project portfolio and project management solutions. The new version enables users to drive projects profitably by simultaneously mastering strategic goals and minute details.
Genius Project is available in two deployment options: Genius Project For Web and Genius Project For Domino. Genius Project For Web is a subscription-based service available through the newly re-designed company Web site, www.geniusinside.com. It extends the Genius Project application functionality to users working on any operating system and messaging platform. Genius Project For Domino, designed for Lotus Notes users, also integrates with Microsoft Project for cross-platform communication.
The new versions of both options allow users to measure any kind of project output. In many cases, monitoring project results and successes isn't just a matter of being on time and budget, but also ensuring you get the right outputs, such as cost savings, market share or new revenue generation. The new Genius Inside KPI indicators module allows users to plan, forecast, and track such outputs or key performance indicators.
Online gaming company Stan James PLC chose Genius Project For Web as its project management tool because Genius Project enabled it to manage resources at the macro and micro levels. It provides a planning tool for measuring high-level development costs, low-level issues and change requests versus actual effort. The reporting tools enable project management teams to provide accurate cost/time reporting to Stan James' senior executive committee. Those reports enable the company's board to approve projects and set priorities based on factual data.

New planning, management tools

-- Genius Simulator, a planning tool that enables managers to create "what if?" scenarios to determine how a project will affect resources, deadline schedules, and respond to modifications.
-- Material resources management for materials consumed while completing tasks. Managers define the type of material, its measurement unit and cost.
-- Meeting documents for planning project-related meetings. Genius Project automatically sends invites to participants through Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or other e-mail applications.
Genius Inside has also enhanced existing functions, most notably:
-- personalized dashboard creation for users of any technical ability level;
-- expanded multi-currency management for specifying a different main currency for each project; and
-- calendar views that display project and personal schedules.
