Innovative Wireless Print Server from Zebra Technologies Puts Printing Productivity on Wheels

New ZebraNet® PS4000(TM) Print Server Adds the Freedom of Mobility to Zebra's Reliable Stationary Printer Line

Vernon Hills, Ill., October 11, 2006-Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global leader of on-demand printing solutions for business improvement, today released its ZebraNet® PS4000(TM) multi-port wireless print server. Using 802.11b/g radio connectivity, the ZebraNet PS4000 enables users to mobilize up to four of Zebra's reliable stationary printers to provide a cart-based solution wherever high-speeds, high-volumes, or multiple on-demand thermal printing formats are required. Users will benefit from a modular solution that brings printing to the point of application, saving valuable employee time and reducing labeling errors.

"While there has been an up-tick in demand and use of cart-based mobile solutions, high implementation costs and difficult integration have been key market barriers," said Robert Danahy, Zebra's director of global mobile and wireless technology. "The ZebraNet PS4000 delivers a cost-effective solution that allows customers to mobilize their existing stationary printers in a configuration that works best for them. By eliminating high customization costs and integration hurdles, more customers can now complete multiple tasks with one wheeled unit, resulting in time and cost savings and increased productivity."

The ZebraNet PS4000 puts multiple printers at hand, making it ideal for retail store, warehouse, and distribution center applications. Utilizing a cart-mounted configuration, retail store employees can complete various tasks such as markdowns, inventory, pricing and inter-store transfers - instantly matching the appropriate media size, color and material to the application. And rather than being weighed down by wearing many mobile devices, or with frequent media roll changes, warehouse and distribution center employees can now easily move a cart with multiple printers through the warehouse, delivering customized printing at the point of need.

"Combined with Zebra's broad line of printers, the ZebraNet PS4000 is a highly customizable solution," said Paul Vogt, director of global retail operations for Zebra. "Our retail customers can easily configure unique, integrated cart-based solutions that combine the ZebraNet PS4000 with their Zebra printers, transforming their in-store wireless processes."

Users can add the print server to an existing network seamlessly, saving the time and expense of adding or reconfiguring hardwired network cables. The ZebraNet PS4000 will also take full advantage of the greater speed and security provided by 802.11g networks, which is especially important to applications where confidential customer information is transferred wirelessly.

The ZebraNet PS4000 is currently available to North American customers. More information about the ZebraNet PS4000 and Zebra's mobile and wireless on-demand thermal printing solutions, Genuine Zebra supplies and ZebraCare services is available online at www.zebra.com.
