September 30, 2002 - Series B45 absolute, differential, and gauge pressure instruments are certified for high availability and safety service. They have hardware and software redundancy, comprehensive self-checking system, and primary and secondary current sources to ensure safe fault indication if failure occurs. These features allow single B45 unit to be installed where two conventional transmitters are usually required in critical process safety applications.

Barton's B45 Series of Critical Transmitters are the First TUV-Certified Absolute, Differential and Gauge Pressure Instruments for High Availability and Safety Service

Unique architecture allows a single unit to be installed where two conventional transmitters are usually required in critical process applications

City of Industry, CA (August 29, 2002) -- Barton's B45 Series Transmitters are the first TUV-certified absolute pressure (AP), differential pressure (DP) and gauge pressure (GP) transmitters for high availability and safety service. They achieve this unique distinction by means of hardware and software redundancy, a comprehensive self-checking system, and primary and secondary current sources to ensure a safe fault indication if a failure occurs. These features allow a single B45 unit to be installed where two conventional transmitters are usually required in critical applications. This savings in cost-of-ownership can be significant in large, multi-component systems.

Series B45D transmitters have spans from 0.2" H2O to 450 psid (0.05 to 3100 KPA), Hastelloy-C diaphragms, 316SS wetted body parts, a 1/4" NPTF or 1/2" NPTF process connection, and are suitable for DP, level and flow applications.

B45/AG absolute or gauge pressure transmitters have spans from 10" H2O to 450 psia (2.5 to 3100 KPA abs.) or 10" H2O to 5500 psig (2.5 to 37,920 KPA). The units are provided with Hastelloy-C diaphragms, 316SS wetted body parts, and a 1/2" NPTF process connection.

The B45F flanged transmitter has a span from 10" H2O to 450 psi (2.5 to .3100 KPA), 316SS diaphragm and wetted parts, standard ANSI and DIN flanges, and is suitable for level and flanged pressure applications.

The transmitters are provided with a rotatable NEMA 4X/6P (IP66/68) enclosure and rotatable 4-1/2 digit digital display. Additional standard features include accuracy to ±0.075% of calibrated span, zero stability, no measurable span drift, and virtual EMI/RFI/ESD immunity. Remote options (HART devices) are available. For harsh process fluids, tantalum diaphragms can be supplied in AP, DP, and GP configurations. Remote diaphragm seals are attainable in various materials and process connections.

Complete product specifications are included in a colorful brochure which is available on Barton's website at www.barton-instruments.com.
