August 25, 2008 - Designed for operation with Kaye Validator stand-alone thermal validation system, pressure transducer allows saturated conditions to be validated, along with temperature, in accordance with EN554. It is specified for operation over total conventional autoclave temperature range, with pressure range of 0-4 bar absolute and accuracy of 10 mbar at 110 to 140°C. Solution is supplied with fully traceable calibration to ISO-17025, with pressure calibration performed at 23°C and 121°C.

GE Sensing's Pressure Transducer Allows Thermal Validation Compliant with EN554

A new, high accuracy pressure transducer from GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies has been purpose-designed for operation with the Kaye Validator, stand-alone thermal validation system to ensure total compliance with EN554 and ISO-17665. The new transducer, which is easy to use and reliable, allows saturated conditions to be validated along with temperature, in accordance with the EN554. It will find application in harsh environments, such as steam sterilizers and SIP systems, during the validation of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device manufacturing plants.

The new high performance transducer is specified for operation over the total conventional autoclave temperature range, with pressure range of 0 to 4 bar absolute and an accuracy of 10mbar at 110°C to 140°C.. It is supplied with fully traceable calibration to ISO-17025, with pressure calibration performed at 23°C and 121°C.

The transducer very much conforms with the requirements of the Kaye Validator Report Wizard in providing compliancy reports to governing standards, For example, users can create saturated pressure and temperature graph reports, comparing actual data with calculated date. Equilibration pass/fail can be determined automatically and Tb and Tb+3 determination can be carried out based on temperature versus saturate temperature or pressure versus saturated pressure.

Fitting of the new transducer is effected simply by wiring it into a Kaye Validator with no need for a power supply. It is physically connected by a 1.5" Triclamp.

As Tim Wortley, global product manager, Life Sciences, Kaye Products, commented, "With the introduction of the new pressure transducer,, the Kaye Validator now offers an even more comprehensive solution to thermal validation through faster data collection, improved data management and flexible reporting and analysis."
