Intended for iron and steel applications, FMB Mitre Bandsaws combine advantages of circular cold saw, variable blade speeds from 52-396 fpm, and capacity of traditional bandsaw. Swivel saw head cuts 0° to 45° left and 0° to 60° right, while vise slides on linear guide rails facilitate setup of miter cuts. Blade size is 11 ft 3 in. x 1 in. x .035 in., and FMB Saturn+G+V Model features Hydraulic Cutting Control. Respectively, saw motor and coolant motor perform at 2 and 1/8 hp.

Addison, IL - The exceptionally accurate and large capacity FMB Saturn Precision Gear Drive Saws from Pat Mooney Inc. - The Saw Company are ideal for a wide range of iron and steel applications. FMB Mitre Bandsaws combine the advantages of a circular cold saw with the speed of an abrasive saw and the capacity of a traditional bandsaw.
Equipped with a Swivel saw head with a precision protractor, Pat Mooney's FMB Saturn mitre cuts 0 - 45° left and 0° to 60° right. The vise slides on linear guide rails for easy setup of mitre cuts. For precise performance, the Saturn boasts carbide blade guides with roller guides and a saw drive via gear reductor with case hardened and ground helical gears - all supported by a heavy-duty machine base. Other features include a quick-acting clamp and mechanical blade tension with a built-in indicator.
The FMB Saturn+G+V Model features Hydraulic Cutting Control. The "G" allows the use of either pull down and enables fast sawing and operation on light jobs, with the added convenience of hydraulic downfeed for heavy tubes, profiles, and solids. The "G" lets the operator "walk away" while the machine completes the cut and shuts off.
The Saturn's blade size is 11'3" x 1" x .035" and length stop is 23". Variable blade speeds range from 52 to 396 FPM. The infinite variable speed motor is controlled via Omron Inverter. The saw motor and coolant motor perform at 2 HP and 1/8 HP respectively. The Saturn occupies 38" x 63" of floor space and weighs 1,700 lbs.
