August 13, 2010 - Designed for power utilities and companies active in construction and power distribution, 8 kVA PhazeSaver can restore power to homes/businesses that lose partial service. It supplies temporary 120 or 208/240 V service until permanent repairs can be completed, allowing utility companies to avoid bridging or running shunts. Also, 240 V power can be supplied from single 120 V phase or from service with open neutral (and 2 good phases) on overhead 120/240 and underground 120/208 systems.

The PhazeSaver


Bridgeport Magnetics Group, Inc. has developed the PhazeSaver in close cooperation with a large electrical utility. The product is now being offered by Utility Technologies, LLC. The PhazeSaver has been designed for power utilities and companies that are active in construction and power distribution.

What it can do
  • Restores power to customers who lose partial service at their home or businesses.
  • Supplies either temporary 120 or 208/240 volt service until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Utility Companies can avoid the need to bridge or run shunts for residential customers that lose one of the 120 volt phases to their homes.
  • Provides the capability for 240 volt power to be supplied from a single 120 volt phase or from a service with an open neutral (and two good phases); on both overhead 120/240 and underground 120/208 systems.
  • Used to improve public safety by avoiding the need to run temporary services or bridge customers when a phase is lost.
  • Avoids need to run expensive, noisy, and polluting generators or inverters.

  • Provides a quick, convenient 8000 watt (8kVA) source of 240 volt power from a 120 volt source and a good neutral.
  • Provides 120 volt power from a service with two good phases.
  • Will work with both overhead 120/240 and underground 120/208 systems.
  • Rugged NEMA weather-resistant enclosure for both indoor and outdoor use. Reflective labeling and powder coat finish.
  • Product Dimensions: (31.1 H x 14.1 W x 6.5 D) Weight: 70 lbs.
  • Electronic Magnetic circuit breaker - 70 amp rating.
  • Telescopic handle makes it easy to move around.
  • Units may be parallaled together for higher loads.
  • Toroidal design allows for low weight and energy efficient operation.
  • All electrical connections are enclosed and secured within a locked cabinet.
