New 65-Watt Power Supply Delivers Full Load Under 30% Higher Temperatures

Orange, CA (February 10, 2003) - Radius Power Inc., today introduced their new R65 power supply unit (PSU). The new unit is a 65-watt single output PSU in the industry standard 3" by 5" footprint with a 30 % increase in thermal performance for more reliable operation for today's smaller packages. The units are designed for OEMs and end-users involved in the design and manufacturing of process and industrial controls, material handling equipment, vending and gaming machines, office equipment and networking equipment such as firewalls, hubs and routers.
A key feature of the new R65 family is its ability to operate at full loads to 60°C compared to 40-45°C for others in its class. This allows OEMs designers to more closely match the power supply specifications without having to over-specify the PSU for thermal degradation leading to smaller more reliable units that require less cooling.
Complementing its superior thermal performance, the R65 has extensive standard features including a universal autoranging input voltage from 90 - 265 VAC, full compliance to industrial and commercial EMI/EMC and safety specifications including UL1950, CSA 1402-3, EN60950, EN55022 Class B, and EN6100-4-4, 5. The R65 comes in 5 models with output ratings ranging from 5v to 48v with continuous output power of 65 watts and currents from 1.35 to 12 amps. Short circuit protection, 1% Vp-p at maximum load, and +1% line and load regulation rounds out the PSU features.
Price and Availability
