Ault Incorporated Announces Low-Cost 101-Watt External Power Supply

MINNEAPOLIS - Sept. 2, 2003 - To meet higher-wattage external power needs in a cost-effective package, Ault Incorporated, a leading North American manufacturer of power conversion products (Nasdaq: AULT), has launched its PW132 101-watt power supply. The PW132 meets the industry challenge to provide power to feature-rich electronic devices in the 100-watt range while remaining affordable and fulfilling safety certification requirements. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for medical, communications and industrial devices are reducing product size by designing in an external power supply, which moves the power supply outside the device. Switch-mode external power supplies in the 100-watt category benefit a broad range of applications, including medical monitors/displays and respirators, point-of-sale terminals, wireless local area networks (wLANs) and satellite receivers. For external power supply safety and performance, the 100-240 VAC-input power supply complies with EMI/RFI regulations and features regulated output with low ripple. Typical electrical efficiencies are 85 percent and mean time before failure exceeds 100,000 hours. Modified and custom designs also are available. The CE-compliant power supply measures 9.0 (L) X 2.9 (W) X 2.0 (H) in. (229 L x 74 W x 51 H (mm)), weighs 24 ounces (684 grams) and carries pending safety agency approvals for UL/C-ULus 1950 and TUV EN60950.

The new PW132 is available for under $27.00 in 1,000 quantity. There is a one-year warranty. The PW132 is available immediately in a 24V model, with a 48V model in development. Ault is the largest independent manufacturer of power conversion products based in North America. The company is the leading supplier to OEMs in the datacom/telecom convergence market, which includes DSL and cable modems, wireline and wireless communications equipment, medical equipment and networking hardware.
