New 1U Power Supply Rack Offers Dual 3kW Outputs
Dual-output rack expands reach of the HWS1600 series of power supplies
San Diego, CA – TDK Corporation announces the extension of the TDK-Lambda HFE1600 series of racks with the addition of a new dual-output model. Built to house the high-efficiency HFE1600 power supplies, the HFE1600D1U racks allows the user to install supplies with different output voltages on either side of the rack’s split power bus. Measuring 1U in height, this new design allows for more flexibility when creating hot-swappable power architectures for many applications including data centers, wireless base stations, industrial automation, telecommunications, RF power amplifiers, network equipment, storage systems, and distributed power architectures.
Each half of the rack is capable of delivering 3,040W, a total of 6,080W. For higher power architectures, up to two (2) power racks containing up to eight (8) HFE1600 series power supplies can be zero-stacked, requiring no space required between racks.
TDK-Lambda’s HFE1600 series of power supplies are available in standard output voltages of 12V, 32V, 24V, and 48VDC. The outputs are user adjustable to suit custom requirements. Each HFE1600 supply has two variable-speed cooling fans and can operate in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +70°C. TDK-Lambda has also integrated a keying system to ensure that the correct HFE1600 is inserted where multiple voltages are used within a system.
The output voltage is programmable by resistance, external voltage, or by an optional PMBus compatible I2C communication interface. The user has the choice of purchasing a rack with screw terminal inputs or IEC-320-C16 connections.
All HFE1600 series hot-swap front-end power supplies comply with EN55022 and FCC Class A radiated and Class B conducted emissions, and meet IEC61000-4 immunity. Each model is safety-approved to EN/IEC/UL 60950-1 edition 2 with CE mark and are backed by a three-year warranty.
TDK-Lambda offers both the HFE1600 and HFE2500 series of power supplies, as well as the series’ respective HFE1600S1U, HFE2500S1U (single output) and HFE1600D1U (dual output) racks.
