Power Integrations Releases Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Russian Versions of PI Expert(TM) Suite PSU Design Software

IIC 2011, SHENZHEN, CHINA - Power Integrations (Nasdaq: POWI), the leader in high-voltage integrated circuits for energy-efficient power conversion, today announced that PI Expert Suite Version 8, the latest upgrade to the company's immensely popular power supply design software, is now available in simplified and traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian, as well as English. PI Expert Suite improves the productivity of power supply design teams, reduces the number of prototype iterations required, and increases the quality of the end result.

PI Expert Suite Version 8 dramatically simplifies the design process by generating a complete power supply schematic. The software also delivers the design and build instructions for a custom-optimized power transformer, along with the corresponding bill of materials. PI Expert Suite Version 8 performs thermal calculations to optimize heatsink performance, thereby speeding and improving thermal design. PCB layout recommendations are made based on the device and package chosen, which helps to ensure that proper PCB layout techniques are used.

Doug Bailey, vice president of marketing for Power Integrations, comments: "This update to PI Expert Suite Version 8 gives power supply designers the convenience of using their preferred language when developing high efficiency power supplies using Power Integrations' products. PI Expert Suite is the cornerstone of our technical support strategy, along with our comprehensive multi-language datasheets, reference design materials, and website."

PI Expert Suite Version 8 can be downloaded now at www.powerint.com/pi-expert. Transformer prototypes resulting from the use of this software can be ordered through Power Integrations' Rapid Transformer Sample Service (RTSS); a quick-start guide describing how to create a compatible design file is available at http://www.powerint.com/rtss.
