J.W. Miller Introduces High Temperature Toroid Power Inductors for Extreme Heat Environments

GARDENA, Calif. - July 23, 2003 - In response to the increasing demand for high power, high density power supplies and other applications where electronics undergo extreme heat, J.W. Miller has introduced the new 2100HT, 2200HT and 2300HT Series of High Temperature, High Current Toroid Power Inductors. Ideally suited for the automotive, military, aerospace, and petroleum industries, or any application where intense heat is generated, the new through-hole series offers an operating temperature range of -55 to +200°C.

The new inductors feature a self-shielding design, which emits a very low level of magnetic interference to the surrounding area. Inductance range is 1.2uH - 1000uH with 38A maximum rated current. Custom inductance ranges and current ratings are available upon request.

The inductors are available in either horizontal or vertical mounting styles for complete installation versatility and are ideal for high density, tight-board space layout designs. Typical
applications include DC/DC converters, differential mode chokes, EMI filters and energy storage.

"Recent availability of stock core material with high temperature capabilities has allowed us to produce these high temperature devices as commodity products rather than custom products," said Andy Chow, Chief Design Engineer, J.W. Miller. "This not only allows better pricing, but faster delivery for both low and high volume production requirements."

The new High Temperature Inductors are priced from $0.70 to $1.50 (depending on the value) in production quantities and are available with 4-6 week delivery.

J.W. Miller offers a full line of high-quality surface-mount and through-hole coils, chokes, inductors and transformers for short run or high volume production requirements and maintains a
large inventory of standard components for quick delivery. Engineering assistance, product samples and custom designs are always available. J.W. Miller products can be purchased through the company's global network of distributors and manufacturer's representatives (see the web site for locations). For more information: J.W. Miller, 306 E.
