June 24, 2004 - Available in 3 series, ElectroFilm products provide film alternative to electrolytic capacitors. Series UNL and UPP use metallized polypropylene dielectric in snap-in and screw terminal case styles respectively, while UPE series uses metallized polyester dielectric in screw terminal case style. All 3 self healing, non-polar series offer 7.55-6005 F capacitance range, 300-1,200 Vdc voltage range, and -55 to +85°C operating temperature.

Film Alternative to Electrolytic Capacitors

New Bedford, MA - March 2004-Cornell Dubilier is pleased to announce the availability of their new ElectroFilm series of power film capacitors, which can be used to replace aluminum electrolytics where an increase in reliability is desired. There are three new series, two, the UNL and UPP, use metallized polypropylene dielectric in snap-in and screw terminal case styles respectively. The third series, UPE, uses metallized polyester dielectric in a screw terminal case style. These new series provide stable high capacitance, high voltage/current capabilities and low ESR characteristics.

All three of the ElectroFilm series are self healing, non-polar and typically have 3 or more times the ripple current capability, more than 2 times greater life with no dry-out and one tenth the ESR value of aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Capacitance range listed 7.55F to 6005F, voltage range 300 Vdc to 1200 Vdc and operating temperature of -55°c to 85°c for all three series. Different capacitance values and voltage ratings are available on request. Typical pricing, depending on film dielectric, capacitance, voltage rating and case style ranges from $6.00 to $35.00. Lead-time is stock to 10 weeks from authorized CDE distributors
