Larson Electronics Releases Heavy Duty 45 KVA Power Distribution Substation

Leading supplier of explosion proof and industrial grade lighting equipment Larson Electronics has announced the release of a three phase 45 KVA power distribution system with a 480 volt primary side and a 120/240 volt secondary side.

The MGS-45K-3X240.30A-240.50A-5X120 heavy duty three phase power distribution system from Larson Electronics gives operators the ability to convert 480 volt three phase to 120 and 240 volt three phase to operate tools and equipment. On the primary side of this system, a 60 amp fused 480 volt disconnect provides protection for the 45 KVA transformer. The secondary side features a 100 amp main breaker that provides protection for five 20 amp 120 volt 5-20 receptacles, one 30 amp L5-30 receptacle and one 50 amp CS8369 receptacle. Twenty feet of Type W line-in power cord is included to connect the substation to a primary 480 volt three phase power supply. Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed and ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and distribution assembly is mounted on a rugged, powder coated, carbon steel frame with integrated skid pockets and a top located lifting eyelet that allows for easy lifting with cable or chains. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel platform and the load center and distribution assembly is mounted to the 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame. This power distribution system is often used in applications such as plant maintenance, construction sites, as a welding station, shows and exhibits, and shipyard operations.

“This power distribution system represents one of the many configurations that Larson Electronics can produce,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectronics.com. “These distribution systems are built for heavy duty applications and are ideal for indoor and outdoor use.”
