Power Distribution Substation enables safe use of high voltages.
May 25, 2011 -
Used when traditional power sources are unavailable/undesirable, MGS-DC-30KVA-480-220-110 safely converts 480 Vac single- or 3-phase current to 240 and 120 Vac. This lets operators in industrial/commercial environments tap into high-voltage power sources and power their equipment independently of work area. Completely weatherproof, heavy-duty power transformer substation includes fully potted transformer, weatherproof GFCI outlets, and panel box. Skid mounting facilitates transport.

Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Introduces Heavy Duty Power Distribution Substation
The MGS-DC-30KVA-480-220-110 power transformer substation safely converts 480 VAC single or three phase current to commonly used 240 and 120 VAC , allowing operators in industrial and commercial work areas to tap into high voltage power sources and power their equipment independently of the work area when traditional power sources are unavailable or not desired. This heavy duty power distribution substation is ideal for providing workers with multiple power connections during plant turnarounds, maintenance, hazardous location operations, equipment upgrades, installations or repairs and any projects where an alternative to traditional power sources is required. This unit is designed for connection to single or three phase 480 VAC which it then steps down to 120 and 240 VAC. The entire unit is completely weatherproof and can be configured for single phase or three phase operation. Made in the USA, this heavy duty substation includes a fully potted transformer, weatherproof GFCI outlets and weather tight panel box. The unit is powder coated for a durable finish; skid mounted for ease of transport and can withstand regular use in areas exposing it to rain and direct spray. The standard frame design is constructed of ¼ inch thick, 3 inch square tubing with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel or aluminum available as options depending on the user's requirements. The MGS-DC-30KVA-480-220-110 power transformer provides 120 VAC through 10 GFCI protected receptacles and 240 VAC through two GFCI protected 240 VAC outlets, allowing multiple power connections to one source. 20 Feet of SEOOW Line Power Cord connects to a fused ON/OFF disconnect switch which controls power to the 30 KVA, 480 Volt Transformer and 5 foot pigtails provide primary connection to 60 amp, 480V power. Once stepped down, power is distributed through 12 GFCI protected onboard power receptacles and a 480 Volt feed through for welding substations. Integrated breaker boxes are included on both the input end and output end to provide the maximum in safety and reliability. Transport is facilitated through the inclusion of integral frame mounted forklift pockets and a top located lifting eyelet, allowing operators to quickly and easily lift, load or move the unit as needed. This unit is ideal for powering explosion proof lighting and equipment or welding substations and is well suited for use in marine environments as well as general plant turnaround and maintenance operations. Larson Electronics' Magnalight is a manufacturer and as such can build these transformers to custom specifications and deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as prebuilt versions.
