Potentiometric Titrator enhances vanadium redox flow batteries.
Press Release Summary:
July 17, 2014 - Used to improve vanadium redox flow batteries for large-scale energy storage, COM-1700 can run 4 titrations and stirrers. This lets end-user perform different types of titration – potentiometric, photometric, polarization, conductometric – in parallel. Configuring multiple titration stations with automatic sample changer is also possible. Along with high-speed communications and no response time lag, features include color touchscreen and buret design that allows automatic reagent exchange.

COM-1700 Potentiometric Titration for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries
Press release date: July 11, 2014
• Potentiometric Titration for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries
JM Science’s Potentiometric Titrator (COM-1700) is used in research for improving the performance and reducing the cost of vanadium redox flow batteries for large-scale energy storage. This technology is being used in vanadium battery production to measure a battery’s charge.
The COM-1700 can run four titrations and stirrers that easily allow end user to do different types of titration including potentiometric, photometric, polarization, and conductometric titrations in parallel. Configuring multiple titration stations with an automatic sample changer is also available.
The COM-1700 has reliable high-speed communications with no response time lag and results appear in real-time. The compact design reduces bench space by 25%. The buret design allows automatic reagent exchange quickly and efficiently. Buret standard size is 20mL and optional buret sizes 1, 5, 10, and 50mL are available. Each titration station can control up to 10 burets. Longer-life syringe with top dead-center rest position with minimized dead-space and buret head position sensor eliminates improper assembly. The sample changer accommodates a wide selection of test tubes, beakers and conical flasks. It also is equipped with an auto shut-down function.
This automatic potentiometric titrator model is enhanced with the adaptation of a large size, color touch-panel screen allowing for easy monitoring of any station and provides for real-time pH calibration and stability. One may easily store data on a USB flash memory port. Reading, recalculation and redetection of titration results, and use of data by using other application software is possible by simply downloading the data to a laptop or PC for storage or processing. Data may then be exported to any of several types of file formats including Excel, CSV, HTML, etc. The New COM-1700 also has a built-in thermal printer with easy paper-loading features.
