New 1.550" Stepper Motorized Potentiometer

Delivers Rotational Life Of At Least 50 Million Cycles

Grass Valley, CA - June 21, 2006 - Spectrum Sensors & Controls introduces a new miniature square motorized potentiometer that provides greater reliability while using less space. Featuring a 1.550" square mounting flange, the design of the potentiometer's stepper motor incorporates 200 steps for a smoother output and longer service life. This motorized potentiometer is ideal for medical shutter control sensor applications.

Spectrum's motorized potentiometers utilize a co-molded conductive plastic element for a hard smooth surface and greater long term reliability compared to raised circuit element potentiometers. In Spectrum's process the termination and resistance materials are simultaneously molded with the base substrate. This new stepper motorized potentiometer has a minimum proven rotational life of 50 million cycles.

The square stepper potentiometer features special lead wires - for the motor 22 AWG 9.5" min. and for the potentiometer 28 AWG 9.5" min. The unit provides an electrical angle of 340° +/- 1°, a power rating of 1.0 watt @ 70° C, independent linearity of +/- 5% and uses a passivated stainless steel shaft with 0.625" flatness. The sensor does not require a coupling and has an anodized aluminum housing.

Spectrum Sensors & Controls new 1.550" square motorized potentiometer is priced at $150 and up, depending on quantities and configurations.
