Portable End Prep Tool Features Improved I.D. Clamping
A new air-powered, right angle portable welding end prep tool that has an improved clamping mechanism featuring a smooth exterior for easy entry and removal from the tube is being introduced by ESCO Tool of Holliston, MA.
The Esco "Ground" MILLHOG® is a right angle drive portable end prep tool that features a robust clamp rib assembly incorporating a captive internal band and smooth clamp ribs. Unlike external spring-type clamping devices, this I.D. clamping tool is easy to remove from the tube, will not catch on burrs, and is unaffected by repetitive cycling, claims the firm.
Ideal for end prepping single water wall boiler panel tubes in tight spaces, the Esco "Ground" MILLHOG® only requires a 1-1/2" radial clearance. Totally sealed for use in any orientation, this scarfing tool is self-centering, provides torque-free operation, has TiN coated cutter blades, and can prep high chrome content alloyed tubes from 1/2" I.D. to 2-1/4" O.D.
